Dropping a database (Sybase Central)

Drop a database by using Sybase Central, which deletes all tables and data from disk, including the transaction log that records alterations to the database. All database files are read-only to prevent accidental modification or deletion of database files.

Prerequisites

The database to be dropped must not be running when the Erase Database Wizard is used.

 Task

  1. In Sybase Central, click Tools » SQL Anywhere 16 » Erase Database.

  2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

Results

The database is dropped.
